W. Robert (Bob) Smith, III, Treasurer Bob Smith is a 6th generation Floridian and Miamian for most of his life. Bob’s’ life work has been in the banking industry where for the past 18 years he has directed community lending activities and outreach for The Northern Trust Company in Miami-Dade County. A lifelong preservationist and would-be historian, Bob was an early urban pioneer in Northeast Miami where, as an officer of the Bayside Residents Association, he worked for the establishment of Baywood Park on the bay at NE 71st St., which saved the last undeveloped bayfront parcel in the city from high-rise development. He was instrumental in the designation of the Bayside Historic District in 1993. Bob is a former trustee of Dade Heritage Trust, Chapter member and Treasurer of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and has served on the boards of several affordable housing non-profit organizations.A long-time fan of the MiMo style, Bob and his life partner Marc Campbell today live in a Wahl Snyder-designed MiMo home in Downtown Miami Shores. |
